Have you ever been in the situation where you did not even know how thirsty you were until someone sat a glass of water in front of you? Many times, we are aware that we feel thirsty, but sometimes it sneaks up on us.
Maybe this is what happens. Someone comes along and by what they say about their marriage or what you see in their marriage, it is like you have been offered a glass of water you did not know you needed. What if that glass of water awakens within you a thirst for more? What if seeing that water encourages you to quench that thirst?
Most of us have experienced moments like this. They are meant to awaken something within us. Moments not meant to cause envy, but to make us realize there can be more. This stirring may move us to examine what is happening in our marriage.

Am I stirring up love...?
******************************************************************
Am I stirring up love and increased intimacy in the way I move toward my spouse? Am I being intentional to guard how I am thinking about my spouse? How I respond to them and how I choose to behave toward them? Am I inviting them to greater intimacy by the way I treat them?
In Hebrews 10:24 (ESV) it says, “Let us consider how to stir one another to love and good works.” Am I stirring up love by the way I offer good things to my spouse? Maybe my spouse is thirsty and they don’t know it either. Maybe God is asking me to love them in such a way that I am offering them that same glass of water.
